COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WTVF) — Columbia Police officers arrested a man they say fired shots into a vehicle, hitting his eight-month-old child.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Kobia Eugene Lloyd Jr. Wednesday for the alleged shooting on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Police officials say Lloyd was in an altercation with a 21-year-old woman, the mother of his three children, when he shot at the vehicle she was in with the 2-year-old, one-year-old and eight-month-old.

The 8-month-old was hit in the head. The child was transported to Maury Regional Medical Center then transferred to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt by air. The child is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

Lloyd was arrested on four counts of attempted first-degree murder, felony reckless endangerment, and aggravated child endangerment.
