Columbia man indicted for aggravated assault that resulted in death of his coworker

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Columbia man has been indicted on one count of aggravated assault resulting in death after an incident that occurred in August 2018.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened on August 22 when 29-year-old Johnny Kelley allegedly threw a paver stone at 26-year-old Ciro Alberto Silva.

According to investigators, the two men were part of a construction crew that was working at a home in Thompson’s Station.

The victim suffered head injuries and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where Silva later died.

Kelley's next trial date is an arraignment set for April 24.
