Columbia State Community College officials celebrated the grand opening of their Williamson County campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Community members and city officials got the first look inside the building, which was only phase one of the multi-phase project.
It is a high-efficiency green campus which featured state-of-the-art science laboratories, nursing simulation labs, information technology center, professional sound stage and editing studios, and performing arts training facility with professional recording studio and songwriting lab.
The master plan called for 10 buildings, and work was set to begin on the next phase this fall.
Columbia State offers a number of Technical Certificates and Associate Degrees, making it a good place for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to get started.
