Community members, city officials and police officers met Tuesday night to discuss safety concerns following the fatal stabbing of Tiffany Ferguson in her condo near the Wedgewood-Houston area of Nashville.

The meeting was held at 5 p.m. at the Midtown Hills Precinct in the community room.
Officials talked with neighbors about safety concerns as a result of the random killing.
Much of the meeting focused on police response to smaller issues, specifically the homeless population in nearby parks, who neighbors say stay in the area after dark.
"Maybe if there had been something more proactively taken care of, we wouldn't be sitting here talking about someone's murder," one attendee said.
The investigation was ongoing and the suspect still at large, but officials have said they're following up on strong leads.
