The legal team for Cyntoia Brown has officially filed a formal petition to commute her life sentence.
Brown was charged and convicted of murder as a teenager, but all along her attorneys claimed self-defense and that she was a victim of sex trafficking.
Advocates have called for her sentence to be commuted including celebrities like Rhihanna and Kim Kardashian.
