Officials have asked the public to avoid an area near downtown Nashville after construction crews struck a natural gas line.
The incident was reported Monday morning in the area of Lea Avenue and 3rd Avenue South.
The Nashville Fire Department was called to the scene. People were asked to avoid the area.
The extent of the leak was unknown.
