NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The newest addition to the Nashville Zoo’s giraffe exhibit has officially been given a name.
After more than a month of voting, the winning name was Enzi. The name is Swahili for powerful.
Visitors were able to vote for one of three names by donating a pair of old blue jeans. The donations were collected for the Jeans for Giraffes conservation program.
A total of 700 pairs of used jeans were collected during the competition, and Enzi won with 407 pairs collected.
