One person was arrested after police were called to investigate a suspicious package in Cookeville.
Police were called to a Walmart Monday night after a man was seen placing a suitcase beside a propane tank case.
Officials responded to the scene and determined the suitcase to be safe.
On Tuesday afternoon, Walmart employees saw the same man return to the store. He was identified as 39-year-old Shane Conatser and was charged with theft.
Detectives said during the investigation, they recovered stolen property from the suitcase that had been taken during a burglary at a Cookeville home.
During the Walmart investigation, officers were also notified of a piece of luggage sitting beside a propane tank cage at Kroger. That incident remains under investigation.
