COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Cookeville Police officials have asked for the public's help in their investigation of a deadly shooting on the 1900 block of North Dixie Avenue.

A man was found dead in his Cookeville apartment Monday morning. Officers responded to a complaint of "loud bangs" from an adjoining apartment and found 22-year-old Joshua Austin Rowan of Cookeville lying in the doorway of his apartment.

Police say he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Officials said in a press release detectives are following up on leads, but no suspect information was released. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause of death.

They asked anyone with information on who may have killed Rowan to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 931-520-5365 or dispatch at 931-526-2125.
