U.S. Senator Bob Corker said he was not under the impression that he would be on Donald Trump's list of possible running mates.
The Washington Post reported Corker was set to meet with Trump Monday at Trump Tower in New York.
Though Trump hasn't commented on the possibility, the two were said to be friendly and support each other's ideals.
NewsChannel 5’s Pat Nolan recently talked to Senator Corker on Inside Politics.
"I have no reason to believe I'm being considered for any position right now, and you have absolutely no control over it; and certainly I would say, running for it is actually a negative thing to do. I have no reason to believe I'm even being considered."
Corker is the chairman for the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and has reportedly advised the Trump campaign on foreign policy.
