A correctional officer at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Facility was assaulted by an inmate.
According to the officials with CoreCivic the correctional officer was stable and being treated at an outside medical facility.
The incident happened Wednesday afternoon and the facility was still on lockdown as of that night.
CoreCivic officials said they were fully cooperating with our government partner and the incident was being investigated.
