Convicted rapist, Cory Batey, has been removed from the mid-state as part of the process of finding a long term corrections facility.
The former Vanderbilt University football player was sentenced to 15 years in prison last week for his role in a rape on campus back in June of 2013.
Batey has been moved to a correctional facility in Bledsoe County. While, at that facility he has been scheduled to go through prisoner orientation.
He will then be assigned to a permanent Department of Corrections facility.
