MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Murfreesboro couple has decided to bless restaurant workers with big tips as the industry has been hit hard during the pandemic.

Tyler and Angela Black created "Tipping in the Boro." They ask for donations throughout the week and then give the money to servers at restaurants.

"We donate 2, 3, $400," Angela Black said, "And it’s just like people don’t understand how much that goes.”

They launched a Facebook page for the campaign and a TikTok profile to post their heartwarming videos.

"We had another lady, she worked 60 hours a week to pay her rent, and that didn’t include her other bills," Black said.

Each person they bless has their own story. "We had one lady who wasn’t able to work because her son has been in the hospital, and it was actually her first day back to work,"Black said.

Each smiling face makes it all worth it. "Shocked, overwhelmed, very grateful," Tyler Black said, "We actually hope it grows more and more to be able to do it more than just once a week, and we have some other ideas too, to do in the future, if it grows big enough."
