Couple Gets Married On Bridge In Winter Storm

An East Nashville couple said their “I dos” on the Nashville Pedestrian Bridge in the middle of Friday’s snow storm.

Despite the more than 5 inches of snow that fell, Jessica Reed and John Pyle got Married at 3 p.m. Friday.

"This is all we wanted, who cares if it's a little snowy - a little snowy, just get married, that was it,” the couple said.

They met one year ago, and knew Friday was the day they wanted to get married. So with Nashville in the background, they made their vows.

The couple reached out on the East Nashville Facebook page to see if anyone could lend the bride a fur coat for the ceremony, and within minutes they got a response from one of the members of the community.

The fur coat was originally a wedding gift back in the 1920s, and the owner was just happy she could help this couple on a day they'll remember forever.

"The snow is crazy, but it's also just awesome that a community comes together. Love always wins,” they said.

The couple was joined by the bride’s best friend, who officiated, and the groom’s brother who was the photographer.
