MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a tractor trailer on I-40 west near Mt. Juliet Friday night.

The crash happened at about 10:00p.m., just east of the Providence exit.

A semi truck and trailer overturned on the interstate, blocking multiple lanes of traffic for several hours. Just before midnight, police reported some westbound lanes reopened to allow traffic to move on I-40 west. However, the westbound exit to Mt. Juliet Road was closed for the investigation.
