A crash, along with early-morning construction, caused major delays for commuters heading east on Interstate 40.
A crash was first reported shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lanes near I-840 at the Dickson-Williamson county line.
The interstate was briefly closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
Tennessee Department of Transportation officials said the crash happened near a work zone at mile marker 180, delaying construction.
As a result, one lane was closed during rush hour traffic. Sky 5 flew over the area and showed a major backup.
