A woman was sent to the hospital after a multiple vehicle crash shut down Interstate 440 East for a couple hours.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. on I-440 East at the Hillsboro Pike overpass.
NewsChannel 5 spoke to a man who watched it all unfold.
"She swerved back up on top of an embankment, kind of went way up the embankment. Dust was flying, then she came back across the other side of the interstate, slammed into a guardrail; so we slowed down and sagged back," said Mark McCleskey. "And then about another 100 yards later she started again, went off the road again and slammed into this light pole."
McCleskey rushed to the crashed car to see if the driver was okay.
All eastbound lanes were shut down for longer than an hour while crews cleaned up the scene. The crash was expected to be cleared by 9 p.m.
We were told she was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived, but her condition was unclear.
