NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A crash involving multiple vehicles caused a delay for commuters on Interstate 40 East Friday morning.
The incident was reported at 7 a.m. where the interstate crosses American Road not far from Charlotte Pike. The scene has recently cleared.
At one point, eastbound traffic was reduced to one lane as a result of the crash. Emergency vehicles blocked at least three lanes and diverted traffic around the scene.
Details of the wreck were not available.
It was not known if or how badly anyone was hurt.
The collision caused a major delay for eastbound motorists. Traffic could be seen backed up for at least four miles towards Bellevue.
Drivers were advised to seek an alternate route.
