The search effort continued Monday for a woman who went missing on Dale Hollow Lake in Clay County.
Officials with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the woman went missing while kayaking with her teenage son.
He was traveling in front of her when he turned around to find that she was gone. According to officials, she had been having problems with her inflatable kayak.
Investigators said she was not wearing a life vest.
The search resumed at 8 a.m. Monday after weather forced crews to suspend their efforts the night before. Overton County officials also assisted in the search.
The woman’s name was not released.
