NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man has been found and identified after he drowned at Percy Priest Lake Friday evening.
21-year-old Cameron Nelson was cliff jumping from rocks near Branch Oak Trail with friends from his church.
When he jumped into the water, he began to struggle. His friends were unable to rescue him, so they called 911. That call was made just before 6 p.m.
Divers found Nelson submerged about 36 feet below the lake's surface at 9 p.m. that evening.
Fire officials urged people to practice safety while on the water. That same day, crews responded to a child who drowned in Percy Priest Lake.
