The Second Harvest Food Bank and the National Association of Letter Carriers announced the date of their 'Stamp Out Hunger' food drive.
The food drive was set for May 14. Donations can be made by leaving a bag of canned goods next to your mailbox before the mail comes, and the mail carrier will pick it up.
NewsChannel 5 spoke with one employee at the post office, who knew what a difference the drive makes.
"I was a part of something like this. When I was young, we required food assistance, and I was blessed enough to be part of the National Association of Letter Carriers and be employed by the post office. And that has assisted my family,” said NALC employee Paul Galvin.
Last year, the 'Stamp Out Hunger' campaign received more than 70 million pounds of food donations.
