NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The passenger killed in a crash on Donelson Pike near Hanger Lane early Thursday morning has been identified as 47-year-old Fabien Elocho.
According to Metro police, 34-year-old Rupa Shiba crossed over into oncoming traffic in her Toyota Camry around 3 a.m., striking a Dodge Ram driven by 70-year-old Lenard Richardson.
Elocho was a rear passenger in the Ram, and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He died of his injuries there.
Shiba and a second passenger of the Ram, 21-year-old Esther Elocho, were also transported to Vanderbilt. They are both in stable condition.
Police say there is no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement in the crash, and that the main contributing factor to it is Shiba's failure to stay in her lane of travel.
