NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 26-year-old woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 24 E. on Monday morning that closed the roadway for several hours.
Metro police identified the woman who died as Kaitlyn Cash, of Nashville. Investigators said Cash was driving at a high rate of speed on the left shoulder of the interstate when she sideswiped another vehicle and hit the concrete median. She then crossed over all four lanes of traffic and hit a rock embankment, police said.
No other motorists were hurt.
The crash was reported around 8:40 a.m. near Haywood Lane and exit 57B. The interstate was closed until around 1 p.m.
