NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 21-year-old Nashvillian has died after a crash Tuesday morning.

MNPD say Austin Watkins lost control of his SUV on Fairwin Avenue before shooting out onto Gallatin Pike where the vehicle was T-boned by another SUV.

Police say Watkins died at the scene of the crash. A medical issue may have contributed to the accident.

The SUV reportedly left the roadway, went up the sidewalk and took out some mailboxes on Fairwin Avenue before the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is expected to be ok.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
