BURNS, Tenn. – A death investigation is underway in Dickson County after a woman was found dead inside her home.
Officials on the scene said a 48-year-old woman was found deceased in a home on Highway 47 East in Burns. Her body was discovered around midnight.
Investigators have not released many details, but did confirm that she suffered an apparent gunshot wound. The injury was reported as self-inflicted.
Authorities said all gunshot deaths are treated as homicides until the Medical Examine can determine otherwise.
Six other people were in the house at the time of the incident.
No additional details were known.
