Police have asked the public’s help in locating a vehicle after a man was found dead inside a West Nashville home.

Officers were called to 30-year-old Daniel Shield’s Delaware Avenue residence for a welfare check late Tuesday after his boss reported he hadn’t seen him in several days.

Police said they found a decomposing body inside his “bloody apartment.” The exact cause of death has yet to be determined.

Police said Shields was last seen at 9:30 p.m. on July 4 leaving the Trax bar at 1501 Ensley Boulevard.

It’s not yet known whether anyone left the bar with him.

Police said they’re looking for a red 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV that is believed to have been taken from the home.  The vehicle has Tennessee tag number 35299D.

Anyone seeing the Trailblazer or anyone with information was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
