Death Row Inmate Dies In Hospital

A Tennessee death row inmate has died at a Nashville hospital of natural causes.

The state Department of Correction said William Stevens was 60. He died early Monday.

Stevens was convicted of first degree murder in 1997 for the death of his wife and mother-in-law. He offered to pay 18-year-old Corey Milliken $5,000 to murder them.

Sandra Jean Stevens, 45, was strangled to death, and her mother, 75-year-old Myrtle Wilson, was stabbed and strangled.
