DEFEATED, Tenn. (WTVF) — Cordell Hull Lake announced on Facebook Saturday afternoon that the beach at Defeated Creek Recreation area is closed due to "high levels of bacteria that exceed Tennessee Health Department standards."
The campground at Defeated Creek is still open.
Alternative locations in the area that honor the same passes and cost the same are:
• Wartrace Recreation Area located at 3711 Gladdice Hwy, Gainesboro, TN 38562
• Roaring River Park located at 10417 Dodson Branch Hwy, Gainesboro, TN 38562
• Floating Mill on Center Hill Lake located at 430 Floating Mill Rd, Silver Point, TN 38582
