Deputies: Child rape suspect may still be in area

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man is wanted on a child rape charge and deputies believe he may be in our area.

Sumner County deputies got a report of allegations of a sexual assault involving a juvenile on August 15.

Following an investigation, evidence was uncovered which led to a warrant being issued for 47-year-old Jeffrey Morris for rape of a child.

Deputies have been searching for Morris since the alleged assault took place.

Morris is from Westmoreland and deputies say they believe he may still be in the area or possibly in southern Kentucky, particularly Macon County.

The Tennessee Deartment of Children Services also are apart of the investigation.
