CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Chattanooga are investigating a fatal shooting by Hamilton County deputies.
Media report the shooting happened Tuesday night when deputies responded to a call about a disorder involving a possibly armed suspect. Hamilton County Sheriff's spokesman Gino Bennett said in a statement that the suspect fled by vehicle and officers followed, trying multiple times to pull him over.
When the suspect did stop on Highway 153 north of Hixson, Bennet said he "brandished a weapon at which time officers had to use deadly force to stop him."
Bennett said no deputies were injured.
