DICKSON, Tenn. (WTVF) — Officials in Dickson County say for them, recent floods have been more destructive than the historic 2010 flood.

Michael Adams, director of the Water Authority of Dickson County, said flooding in February has already caused more than $140,000 in damages. Adams said floodwaters washed out a water line near the Piney River, flooded office buildings and damaged parts of the authority’s wastewater plant.

Some of the repairs are already underway, but in some cases, crews need to wait for dry weather to get to work.

Adams said with rain in the forecast for later this week, crews will be on standby for any urgent repairs or fixes.
