DICKSON, Tenn. – As crews continue working to restore power in Dickson County, officials have warned customers about a scammer posing as someone from the electric service.

Officials with the Dickson Police Department said at least one customer has been contacted by someone posing as a Dickson Electric System employee who offered to restore their power in exchange for money.

DES Officials said they never charge customers to restore power that is knocked out as a result of a storm.

As of Thursday afternoon, DES said 328 customers are still without power. Crews have been working around the clock since Monday to restore power to many of the hardest hit areas after this week's ice storm.

Crews from Clarksville and other states around the country, including Texas and Ohio, have been working along side local power crews to restore power to customers.

Anyone contacted by someone posing as a DES worker has been asked to call 615-446-9051.
