NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Queen of Tennessee is celebrating a huge milestone.
Friday marks 50 years since Dolly Parton became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
She was inducted on January 4, 1969 fresh off the release of "Just Because I'm A Woman," her first solo album on the RCA label.
The Opry is planning a three-night celebration of her music in October. Rolling Stone reports that the third night will feature back-to-back performances from Dolly and a lineup of special guests.
