MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A domestic situation turned into a standoff when a man armed with an AR-15 style rifle refused to surrender to police in Murfreesboro.
Officers responded to the home in a neighborhood off South Rutherford Boulevard Thursday night.
A source told NewsChannel 5 the man refused to come out of the home and made threats at officers. But after a while, the suspect stepped outside for a smoke and that's when officers took him into custody.
Inside the home, they found drug paraphernalia, the gun and one-hundred rounds of ammunition.
The suspect is booked on a variety of charges.
