Officers were called to a hotel in Donelson overnight after a hotel clerk was robbed at knifepoint.
The incident happened around midnight Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express on Airport Center Drive.
Metro Nashville Police officials said the suspect walked into the lobby with a knife and demanded cash from the hotel clerk.
Officers said he got away with an undisclosed amount of money. From there, the suspect ran away from the parking lot of the hotel.
At this point, police don't believe a getaway vehicle was involved.
K9 officers and their handlers searched the area but did not find anyone. Police said the suspect is possibly homeless.
