Downtown building demolished

The building that once housed the Department of Human Services on James Robertson Parkway was demolished.

The building was constructed in 1962, and was bought by a Chicago-based hotel design company for nearly $9 million.

The Nashville Post reports the company is planning to convert the lot into an extended stay hotel.
