NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One group now wants to make downtown Nashville a holiday destination. They're offering downtown businesses some incentive to get into the Christmas spirit.
The Nashville Downtown Partnership is calling on owners of storefronts to light things up. For another year, the partnership is encouraging folks to decorate their business with lights. They're willing to pay businesses $100 toward decorations to get you to participate.
"We find that holiday lights really add energy and excitement to an area, it makes everything a lot more festive, especially to our already vibrant downtown," said Crissy Cassetty, Retail Recruiter for the Nashville Downtown Partnership.
Some notable businesses that have taken part are the Johnny Cash Museum, the Goo Goo Clusters Shop, and the Rainbow Room.
"We want as many storefronts to be lit up as possible," Cassetty said. "I think if one storefront in an area is decorated for the holidays, it doesn't have the same impact as if the whole entire block or the whole entire street is lit up."
All you need to do is keep the receipt and fill out this formto get the reimbursement. The form needs to be sent in my December 31st.
