Driver Charged In Fatal, Wrong-Way Crash Near Spring Hill

SPRING HILL, Tenn. – A driver has been charged in connection with a fatal, wrong-way crash in Williamson County.

The incident happened just before 4:30 a.m. Saturday at mile marker 31 on State Route 840, about five miles north of Spring Hill.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said 41-year-old Vazquez Gabriel Mendez was traveling east in the westbound lanes of SR 840 and hit another car head-on.

The other driver, identified as 52-year-old Robin Fetters, was killed in the collision.

According to troopers, Mendez has been charged with vehicular homicide in the case.

His photo was not immediately available.
