Driver Charged With DUI In Fatal Shelbyville Crash

A Chapel Hill man has been charged with vehicular homicide and DUI after a crash that killed a woman and left a man injured.

The wreck happened in Bedford County in the 2400 block of U.S. Highway 41A just after 11 p.m. Saturday.

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Kyle A. Nevison was driving north in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado that was hauling a trailer with a boat.

He reportedly crossed over into the southbound lanes of travel, striking a 2014 Ford Escape head-on.

The driver of the Escape, identified as 72-year-old Sylvia H. Ogle of Winchester, was killed in the crash. Her passenger, 71-year-old Jerry F. Ogle, was injured. The two were wearing seatbelts, according to police.

Nevison was injured in the crash. He has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, and simple possession of a schedule VI. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
