A driver caused significant damage to an overpass on I-840 West in Rutherford County when the vehicle allegedly hit the bottom of the bridge.
Debris was scattered along the road, forcing Tennessee Highway Patrol crews to block lanes to clear the road.
THP officials said the vehicle left the scene and was not located.
Anyone with information on the vehicle was asked to call 1-800-736-0212 or 615-744-3091.
TDOT said the bridge would require future repairs.
