Driver hydroplanes on I-24, causes 7-vehicle crash

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WTVF) — A crash involving multiple vehicles caused delays on Interstate 24 westbound after a driver hydroplaned in messy conditions.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near the Haywood Lane exit.

Officials said seven vehicles were involved in the weather-related crash. One driver hydroplaned, causing the chain reaction wreck.

Two people were sent to an area hospital but no major injuries were reported.

A Storm 5 Alert was in effect throughout the morning as more rain moved through the area.
