A driver was taken into custody after crashing into the side of a Brentwood home, knocking out power in the area.
The incident was reported shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday at the corner of Waller Road and Ella Lane.
Officials with Brentwood Police said the driver struck a utility cable before hitting a power line, which knocked out electricity for the entire neighborhood.
From there, he crashed through a home's garage and came to rest in the backyard.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers said he had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for a drug test. He would be taken into custody for questioning.
Crews were working to restore electricity in the area.
