The man behind a high speed police chase in Sumner County has officially been charged with 13 crimes.
Police said among the many charges 21-year-old David Stancil was given, were aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault on an officer.
The chase began in Portland after Stancil and a woman were spotted arguing by an off-duty officer.
That's when Stancil allegedly forced the woman in his car and sped off.
He led officials on a 30 mile chase, weaving through traffic and even driving on the wrong side of the road at times.
The pursuit finally came to an end when Stancil lost control side-swiping a car then slamming into another head-on.
