SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — Sumner County deputies are investigating a shooting just outside Gallatin on Tuesday morning.

Investigators say two men drove from Goodlettesville to an address near Gallatin to buy drugs. When they arrived, both men got out of the car and the passenger shot the driver in the leg and carjacked him.

The victim initially told police he was driving a customer as a ride-hailing driver. Deputies say although he is a ride-hailing driver, this was not a paid ride.

Deputies said the victim's girlfriend was in the vehicle when it was stolen, but she has since been found and is not hurt.

The vehicle was later found in Antioch, but deputies are still searching for the suspect, who was seen in a restaurant on Murfreesboro Road around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
