NASHVILLE, Tenn. – It was a marching band show like many had never seen before.
The event took place at MTSU's Floyd Stadium Friday night as Drum Corps International's top ten competitors took to the field to take traditional marching band to the next level.
The ensembles were filled with elite student musicians and performers who have spent their summer months sweating it out in long practice sessions followed by nights spent on gymnasium floors as they tour the country.
All that effort was set to be put to the test on August 8. That's when the 12 top-scoring groups have been scheduled to compete in Indianapolis at the DCI World Championship.
