BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WTVF) — As Middle Tennessee continues to recover from the pandemic, a dry cleaning company is helping unemployed customers land a new job by cleaning suits and job interview apparel for free.

Best Cleaners and New Brand Cleaners have locations in Brentwood, Franklin and Columbia.

To participate, bring any article of clothing that will be worn during a job interview to any of the dry cleaning locations. In many cases, the clothing can be cleaned and returned to the customer in around 24 hours.

"Having nice, clean, fresh pressed clothes, that are spot free will give them confidence for the interview," said Chris Shrader, owner of Best and New Brand Cleaners. "Making people feel good about themselves, it helps everybody."

Shrader said after some discussions on social media among owners of dry cleaning companies, the concept is catching on across the country.

"A friend of mine in Wichita, Kansas put this out there," said Shrader. "It worked for him, and he encouraged us to do it to because it is a good way to give back to the community."

Shrader said his business was also hit hard by the pandemic. He estimated he lost around 65 percent of his business last March as people were quarantining at home.

Even as his business continues to recover, he said it is important to help others.

"We just want to do what we can to give back," said Shrader. "Times are tough."
