East Nashville Apartment Damaged In Fire

Posted

At least one family has been displaced after an early-morning apartment fire on Christmas Day.

The incident was reported shortly before 7 a.m. Monday at a residence on Lillian Street.

A Nashville fire official on scene said a couch caught fire inside one of the apartments. No one was home at the time.

Crews had to tear out some of the sheet rock to make sure the fire didn’t spread. Most of the damage was smoke-related.

The cause of the fire was unknown but investigators said it could have originated from a space heater.

One cat was lost in the fire.

None of the other units were affected.
