NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One organization delivered Easter baskets to kids in North Nashville on Saturday.

In the North Nashville neighborhood, its been a month full of changes. A powerful tornado destroyed homes and a contagious virus shut down businesses.

Jessica Hart is the founder of the Beauty of Hope Foundation. She said originally her organization planned a big Easter gathering with hair stylists and clothes donations.

But when Governor Bill lee signed the stay at home order, the organization had to switch gears fast. Instead they came up with the idea of delivering Easter baskets to kids all over Middle Tennessee.

The Easter baskets not only had items for the kids but supplies that the parents could use during the COVID-19 pandemic like toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

"We wanted to give things they wanted but also items they needed," Hart said.

Hart delivered more than 100 baskets. She said before she gave the baskets to the kids, she disinfected them and wore gloves.
