The children of a couple who met at Tennessee State University in the 1930s have donated $250,000 to the schools in their parents' honor.
University officials said it is among the five largest donations from a family in the university's history.
The university said Damon Lee III and Kimberly Lee-Lamb made the donation to the Damon and Rachel Lee Scholarship Endowment Fund earlier this month.
The fund was set up in 1999, and the family has made other donations through the years. Contributions so far total more than $500,000.
The fund has assisted out-of-state students majoring in business and entering their junior or senior year.
