Brains were buzzing at the Tennessee Titans Regional Spelling Bee.
More than 40 students from seven Middle Tennessee counties gathered at Nissan Stadium Saturday for the competition.
One Harding Academy fifth grader told us he studied for nearly a month, but it was all in good fun.
"It's a lot of fun once you get up there,” said Walker Lindsey, a participant. “At first you're really nervous, but once you get up there and spell your first word, you ease up a lot and start to have a lot of fun."
"Walker plays a lot of sports, so to have him be able to do this also is really exciting," said Walker’s father, Jason Lindsey.
The winner from Saturday's competition was 12-year-old Abby Burton from Woodland Middle School.
Abby has been set to represent Middle Tennessee at the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee held in Washington D.C. in May.
